While it is true that bluffing is a very important part of playing poker, it is never a good idea to overdo it when it comes to trying to bluff the other players at the table. This is why it is a very good idea for anyone who is not well versed in poker playing to spend some time sitting quietly, betting cautiously and watching all of the other players in the way they interact with each other. You can learn a lot by just watching and listening to the things that are going down poker table. You can also learn how to read body language by spending more time people watching and less time actually worrying about winning in the beginning.

Playing poker is no different than anything else in life and just like anything else you will have to learn from others who are more experienced than yourself. When a new player comes to the table with an attitude that they have nothing to learn, that player probably has the most to learn of anybody that is there. They say the day you stop learning is the day you die and in poker nothing could be closer to the truth. Once you begin to feel more confident in your ability to bluff and to read body language of the other players, then you can begin to increase your bets and slowly but surely get your feet wet.
