Leave Your Cocky Attitude at the Door

No one likes a cocky poker player who is full of himself. Granted there are some players who are so good at what they do that they can get away with most anything at the poker table. However, most players do not have the luxury. This is especially true when you’re playing poker in a setting that is unfamiliar to you and where you are surrounded by strangers. There is a vast difference between a friendly poker night among friends and a serious game of poker and casino. Often times new poker players tend to come to the table with the wrong attitude. As a result, the card sharks become determined to do the very best they can to be sure and eat the novice player alive.

This is why one of the best pieces of advice for anyone walking into a casino to play poker is to check that cocky attitude at the door and walk in as a fun-loving, easy-going kind of person that everyone will like. Another problem with becoming cocky when playing poker is that you may wind up losing because she will not know when to call it quits and fold. After all, I’m on a roll why should I stop now? This has led a great many players to head out of the casino with their tail between their legs and their wallets empty. It is also important to remember that you did not want to make the extra players angry or give them any motivation to come after you full throttle.
